A few weeks ago I was working with a client on implementing my social media prospecting system on their facebook page. This is one of the clients I got a few moths ago from my local marketing campaign. Read about that marketing campaign here, “The Exact Method I used to Get 96 Local Small Businesses in 90 Days Flat. I got an email from her saying “Joyce, I’m not getting this facebook thing. What’s the point of it? How I can I get more clients from it?” I thought this was a fair question. After all we don’t want to use facebook just because it’s the most popular things right now… and everyone is on it we only want to do 80/20 marketing activities that leads to long term results.
SO THE QUESTION IS “Why do we need to be on facebook?”
Conversational Marketing is Effective
Social media has really taken off really well. For a long while I didn’t really “get” why social networking media has taking off like this. We can get really get close our clients when we are on facebook, by building up conversations.
I remember sometimes last week, I was researching my favourite athletics Lance Armstrong and can across his Facebook page. While accessing his page, I started reading his daily posts about where he was in Paris… what he was eating and WHERE… and even watched videos and check out his personal life photo’s and his LiveStrong project. I was excited about it that I left a comment on this page.
The secret to facebook is, the more clients and friends who join your “conversation”, the more likely they will like you… trust you and want to do business with you and even become your biggest fan.
The “conversation factor” is HUGE and it’s the very essence of the future of effective small business marketing. If you focus on INCREASING THE CONVERSATIONS you’re engaging people in… adding more friends to your Facebook page… and involving them… the more successful your business will be! Facebook allows me to have this conversation and it’s free.
It’s the World’s Biggest & Best Mailing List of Hot Prospects!
I don’t mean “mailing list” literally. But you should start looking at Facebook as a giant “mailing list” of people who have categorized themselves by interest, needs, and social networks. With one click of the button you can access everyone who you’ve graduated from high school with and let them know… subtly… that they’re now in business; you can access THEIR friends and family… and their friends can allow you to access their friends… This makes it really interesting when sending them updates about your latest post or videos.
Very High Search Engine Ranking
Right now facebook is having a happy moment with Google. Facebook is the 8th largest country in the world. It has over 200 million users, making it the largest online community in the world. The most important reason why I have a Facebook fan page for my business is that I rank very high in Google when people are searching the internet for a marketing coach.
3 Steps Facebook
1. Get a personal Facebook page. This is the page in which you can build a large following of classmates, friends, and regional buddies, to maximize the potential for referrals and new patients.
2. THEN you must sign up for a Facebook Fan Page. A Facebook Fan page is like a Facebook page for your business. MANDATORY (no excuses)
3. THEN you might want to consider advertising your Fan Page with Facebook Ads that appear to the right of people’s Facebook pages when someone from your home town logs in… your cool little ad shows up and when they click on it, it takes them to your Facebook Fan Page. Hint: There is HUGE potential here, and I highly doubt any of your competitors are doing this right now, unless they happen to be a Ben Cummings member!

Log into Facebook. In the search bar in the upper right hand corner of the page search for the following people, who have VERY active and successful Fan Pages for their businesses?

Here are a facebook marketing materials I’ve used to quickly ramp up my own Facebook marketing campaign.
My goal is to have a facebook page active with clients engaging in an ongoing conversation.
My mailing consists of these items:
A two page checklist report, 2 business cards (1 for Facebook, 2 for referral) and a half sheet of my facebook page.
This Facebook Marketing Campaign Materials are mailed in a white envelope and sent out to my client base every month.
This is a PERFECT way to grow your Facebook leads and generate lots of buzz… and…potential referrals for your business due to the viral nature of Facebook!
