I created a post on Wahm.com on “How many hours per day do you dedicate to marketing?” I got some great responses for that post.
Here was my response:
Well, when I first started my business I spend 4 hours marketing per day for the first one year. This was how I was able to build my business to full capacity; that is 37 clients in 8 months. I sorted out the leaks in my day, clustered my appointment/daily activities and started working on profit building activities. When I started seeing consistent results I changed it to 2 days a week. I scheduled these days as “Rain Maker Days” in my calendar and I don’t see any client these days, I just work on my marketing.
Some of the profit building strategies I work on are:
I TRIED:
- Writing my ezine,
- Creating signature talk for workshop or seminars and get listed in publications
- Getting booked to speak in local associations
- Arranging teleseminars with strategic alliances
- Writing articles for associations’ publications or guest post on blogs
- Creating joint ventures etc
So my “Rain Maker Days” are used to focus on these tasks. I focus on working “on” the business instead of “in” it. The reason some small business owners don’t experience any growth and stall out is because they spend so much time caught up in running their business and zero time working “on” it
LET ME SUGGEST THIS:
Try the 3 days work week and compare your results.
