Nice blog!

You're so right about the small world around us has a much greater influence on our lives than the big world we live in.

Becoming an indedependent worker - self employed/freelancer/whatever! - is a massive leap of faith and skill that needs the support not just of our qualifications, knowledge and own motivation but also the recognition and support of those closest around us.

I was recently back in the UK with some friends for a weekend. It was wonderful to be with them, except for the massive seeds of doubt they felt they needed to plant. My family's 5-year-plan is pretty sorted in our heads, but those back home still seem to think we're going through a phase and we'll be back in the UK as a family some time toon. Hmm.

It may be off the point a little, but I want it to prove the point that peers are very influential in everyone's lives and really should support their friends, whatever choices they make.

I guess it's something I hadn't really seen because we live abroad and are a very close-knit family, drawing little on others for our motivation.

Thanks for this :)
