How I Grew My Client Base with FaceBook

I created an account in facebook a few months ago and I will say I have managed to double my client base. Lots has been written and said about how facebook can be used for business, but to me the real boost comes when you install the right accessories, known as applications. This application has made facebook effective for business and professional use.

There are thousands of applications available with one click once you have a Facebook profile. But, don’t get caught up in adding every cool headed person, just because you can. Think strategically about your goals for being on Facebook and then choose the tools that will help your communicate, achieve and amplify those objectives.

And, here are my favorite applications for business use.

Telephone - I use the telephone to call, send and receive voice messages through Facebook, just like having voicemail on your phone. All I need is the application and a microphone and I can start sending messages to my friends.

Testimonials - I love this. I use this Testimonials application to gather my personal and professional testimonials in one place. I encouraging clients to post testimonials about my work and expertise. This testimonial adds great marketing content to my profile.

Business Cards – I create a business card that explains my business. Business Cards helps you network better on Facebook. I personalize my card and attach it to my Facebook messages! This application is much like the signature common in email messages. You can get more clients when used effectively

Circleup – This is used for Groups and Events. It’s a lightweight collaboration app. This tool facilitates some of the communication needed to promote my group activity and events on Facebook and elsewhere. This is particularly useful if you’ve created and maintain your own group on Facebook or often promote teleseminars and workshops.

Free Conference Calls – I use free Conference Calls to organize my business meeting on the fly. With free conference call you can call in from anywhere; your home, mobile, Skype, or any voip service. Using this app inside Facebook has helped me make some immediate connections at a more personal level

Facebook Video – Facebook Video application is a high-quality video platform for people on Facebook. With Video, I can upload video files, send video from your mobile phone, and record video messages to my friends. This application is so easy to use that it makes sending video introductions or message a powerful way to network on Facebook

What I Do – This application allows me to promote my services to my Facebook network. I display my skills on my profile box and list myself in the business directory. I also recommend your colleagues services and products too.

Slideshare – slideshare is know as the largest community for sharing presentations. I upload my powerpoint, openoffice, Keynote or PDF files and view presentations shared by others. This is a great way to spread thought leadership and expertise through presentations you may have delivered locally.

Introductions - Have been introduced to new clients with this application. Ask for an introduction to a web programmer or good lawyer. Then make introductions for your friends. This application speeds the process of effective networking. This systematic approach helps focus the giving and receiving of introductions.
