Most of the small businesses I know do not have a blog for their business; but blogging is the cheapest marketing tool you can use for your business with high potentials for return. Over the years, blogs has been used to share people’s daily activities with friends and family.
Let’s fast forward till now; blog has been used as a marketing tool and as a business diary.
Here Is a List Reason Why a Blog Can Be Beneficiary to Your Business
It’s a quick, easy and low cost way to have a web presence
When I first started my business I started with a blog. I couldn’t believe how fast it was to have a web presence. My first blog was set up with www.blogger.com- it’s on www.JoyceOladipo.com. It’s is so simple to setup even if you don’t know anything about technology. Wordpress is also another blog that is easy to use. You can have it installed on your web server if you already have a website. By having this install on your website you can have visitors that like what you’re writing about visiting your main business website.
It Helps Build an Authoritative Status
When you have a blog full of relevant content it helps establish you as an expert in your field, and this is important if you want prospects to do business with you. Prospects are much more likely to use your service or purchase your products if they see you as an expert in a particular topic. Give your views on the latest events in your industry, offer reviews of related items and comparisons of several items. You will be surprised about how the information you giving them can help business you authoritative status. The next time they need to buy a certain product or need help with something in that area, they will think of you first.
It Builds Your Brand
When people link to your blog they spread the news about you. The more people hear about you, the more they will remember you and what you do. It takes an average of seven times to communicate with a prospect before they buy from you. A blog with hundreds of posts gives you the opportunity to mention your business name and ensure that your readers think of you the next time they’re looking for a particular product or service.
It Helps Build Relationship with Your Audience
Nowadays, it could be quite difficult to build relationships with prospects because they are too many spamming out there that sometimes your email can be lost in the pile. A blog enables you to speak more freely and in a more informal and personable style than an email or web site. The more they know, like and trust you the more likely they are to visit your main site, click your links and purchase your product. When you get comments on your post it then that you know you’ve got some attention.
It Helps You Gain an Insight into Your Visitors
This is, by far, the best benefit you can obtain from a blog. When you get visitors to leave comments on your posts, you get an inside look at how they react to what you say. You can also get to know what your clients wants and needs without spending lots of money on marketing surveys and advertisements. You can also track which posts are being read more often and which one generates a greater number of clicks, emails, and much more. These are important information to help improve your marketing tactics
It brings people “behind the scenes” of your business, making them feel connected
You can tell your audience about what you are up too, holidays, birthday, launches, etc. One huge benefit is the ability to inform your visitors of any changes, new products, latest offers and much more. This, in turn, can lead to direct sales.
It Can Get Your Site Greater SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Search engine optimization is a good form of marketing online. When you make a post you can gain search engine traffic for a given keywords or search terms. Your blog offers the opportunity to promote your products and services with hundreds or even thousands of different keywords. Search engines particularly like promoting blogs because they offer a large amount of content that is updated and added to on a regular basis.
It Can Be Used As A Research Marketing Tools
You can use a blog to pre-empt questions that clients might have. By sending clients to your blog you can gain all of the above benefits and you may reduce the amount of niggling questions that you get asked by customers. I have a session in my blog “Interview with Joyce” that helps solve any objection a prospect might have for working with me Of course.
Maintaining a Successful Business Blog
You need to post regularly to make to have a successful blog. This content needs to be informative, accurate, and written in a way that will appeal to your readers. Every blog demands different content and by producing the right content on a regular basis will lead to great profits.
You need to fine the right time to link to at least one page on your main web site. Make sure you don’t get carried away by placing too many links or linking on your posts but if you mention a particular product, link the name of that product to the corresponding page on your site.
Alternatively include a paragraph at the bottom of the page that includes a link to a related resource (on your own page, or an affiliate link). If you’re using a blog to make money through affiliate links then you should be careful to only use affiliate links in a relatively small proportion of your posts.
